Gabriella Chihan Stanley (Gabs) is the Project Lead of shrine and a behavioural systems designer working at the intersection of technology, culture, and human experience. With over two decades of applied work, she co-founded the award-winning XR studio vrisch, where she has led complex, public-facing systems in cultural, environmental, and social-impact contexts, combining immersive technology, storytelling, and ethical design. shrine grows from her lived experience across cultures and languages, informing a deep sensitivity to memory, identity, and belonging. Her work is shaped by a neurodivergent way of thinking that values pattern recognition, empathy, and non-linear sense-making. She approaches sensitive systems with a strong emphasis on care, consent, and restraint. Alongside shrine, Gabs founded XR Austria and serves on the Pitch Advisory Board of SXSW.
